mid century modern night stand

This piece is made from Soft Maple, Walnut and Birch. The soft maple box was made from a large piece of soft maple I had yet to use. I chose to bookmatch the grain then cut the mitre joints for the box in a way to show a “waterfall” Grain around all four sides. For the legs and stretchers I used half lap joints with dowels to give the joint more strength while keeping this project nail and screw free. The drawer is made from box joints and is made from three quarter inch birch hardwood. the drawer slides (not shown in photos) are custom made using sliding dovetails.
