mid century modern corner desk

I decided to build this desk out of Cherry Hardwood and Cherry Plywood. The desktop, small cabinet and drawer faces on both cabinets are made from 6/4 Cherry and was milled down to it’s final thickness. The desk top is 7/8 of an inch thick while the cabinets and drawer faces have a final thickness of 3/4. I used 45 degree miter joints for both cabinets and added bevels to the fronts of each cabinet to give it some depth. I book matched the material for the drawer faces and then added a bevel on all 4 sides to make it more aesthetically pleasing. Both cabinet carcasses I used a waterfall grain around all 4 sides of each. For the top, I added breadboard style ends and cut a bevel underneath to give it the same increase in depth as the cabinets.
